>> Our top tips!

1. Get to the park early! This is a crucial part of enjoying to the park. Getting to the park at about 9.30AM will enable you to get on your favourite rides with little or no queue. Getting to the park at around 11AM will mean that you have missed that crucial half hour where the queues are very minimal.
2. Prebook your tickets! If you are travelling singly or you do not fit in with one of the family savers then prebooking your tickets will save you a lot of time getting to the park. You are able to beat the queues and just pick up your tickets at the pre paid ticket machine. Of course there is only one of these hence getting to the park will save you time in case there is a queue for this machine!
3. Do the wet rides early! Rides such as Stormforce 10 and Splash Canyon will get busier throughout the day, the peak time for these rides is about 1-2PM! We recommend riding these rides at around 11.30. At this time it will be warm enough for you not to feel too cold, and in any case always ride at the front of Stormforce 10 if you do not want to get to wet (read our review which explains where to sit if you want to stay dry)
4. Eating! There is a little gem hidden inside the zoo, this is called the Rainforest Cafe. This cafe serves mainly pizza however, chips and potato wedges can also be found here. Why do we recommend that you eat here? Well for the simple fact that it is always quiet, central plaza takes most of the fast food junkies, and the cafe which is situated behind this rarely gets visited. The cafe is always clean and has animatronics to keep you amused.
5. Pandemonium, always looks very full when in fact it rarely is. The ride has a huge capacity and the queue accomadates around three cycles of people. Therefore if you wait at the very entrance you may only wait three of four cycles before you get to the front. Do not be fooled!
6. Working your way around the park. Is completely up to choice. If you want to start with the rollercoasters then go straight to Action Park, however if you want to start with some family thrills go to Aerial Park. Fancy getting soaked at 10.30, start with Stormforce 10, the choice is completely up to you. There is rarely large queues, however Maelstrom seems to always have the largest queue despite its capacity.
7. The weather. Do not let the English weather ruin your day. It is very unlikely that is going to rain for the whole day. When it does rain head over to the indoor attractions, or attractions which have covered queue lines. Drayton Manor will not close rides in rain, however they may close rides in thunderstorms.
8. Check the height restrictions. There is nothing worse than queueing for a ride just to be turned away because of your height. If in doubt ask someone before you enter the queue, there is usually a measuring stick at the entrance to the attraction. Use it, make sure you know the restrictions.
9. Ask in doubt. Worried about something? Pick up a park map and go and find guest services, they are there to help and are usually the nicest people in the park. Don't spend a day worrying, go and ask!
10. Have fun! Finally go and have fun! Drayton Manor can and most of the time will be a great day. The park holds various rides for the whole family the day will be fun if you make it fun. Going to a theme park is all about trying new things, don't be scared of the rides, your not going to fall out or anything like that, enjoy them and keep safe!
